He has also spearheaded many critically acclaimed feature films as a creative producer. These include feature films like Bioscopewala (2018), 10 ml LOVE (2010), Daayen Ya Baayen (2010), The Waiting Room (2010), Aamras (2009), Hulla (2008), Bheja Fry (2007), Mixed Doubles (2006), Theeviravaathi: The Terrorist (1998), and more. As its CEO, he has collaborated with and supported some of the top actors of the industry, including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rani Mukerjee, and Tabu.
Over the last decade and a half, Sunil has branched out into curating and creating content, with new writers and directorial talent for all visual media. He has founded production companies – The Adaptation Company and Very Vichitra – to function as vehicles to launch exciting independent projects.
In December 2019, he joined hands with journalists Sidin Vadukut and Supriya Nair, writer Deviah Bopanna, and Gaurav Vaz to set up All Things Small, a platform to tell true stories with deep-dive research on non-fiction narratives through multimedia optics.
Sunil also co-founded Alliance Lumiere – a World Cinema TV Channel – earlier known as NDTV Lumiere and later renamed to Lumiere Movies under Turner Broadcasting, in collaboration with Prannoy Roy (of NDTV) and Manmohan Shetty (of AdLabs Films, now renamed to Reliance MediaWorks).
In recent years, Sunil has embraced the role of a speaker and guest faculty at cultural and corporate events, institutions, and colleges, sharing his extensive knowledge of the media and entertainment industry. He has been invited to serve on the jury and speak at various prestigious film festivals, including Locarno Film Festival, Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Isfahan International Children Film Festival (Tehran), Laon International Film Festival for Young People, International Film Festival of Kerala (Trivandrum), and many more.
